Julia Knecht-Ostwaldt

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER FOR EUROPE
Frankfurt, Germany
20 years of experience

Since joining Strike Aviation Group in 2007, Julia Knecht-Ostwaldt has made significant contributions to the company. In 2021, her exceptional achievements, management skills, and extensive knowledge of the air cargo industry earned her the role of COO of Europe.

“My responsibilities include exhibition and event planning, cargo operations, and optimizing workflows and SOPs. In regard to the day-to-day job, it is my responsibility to optimize the daily workflows using those AI and IT systems on the market designed to help maintain the increasing duties with same number of staff, using automation to support the team as much as possible.”

Julia aims to make a positive impact by implementing sustainability and diversity practices in the air cargo industry. She views Strike as a niche business that goes the extra mile for customers and prides herself on the company’s progress toward a more sustainable and diverse future.

“Strike plants one tree for every cargo shipment it makes to offset CO2 emissions. That’s not equally balanced, but for us, that’s a huge step toward sustainability. In addition, Strike has implemented an internal diversity and inclusion policy, ensuring equal salaries and career opportunities for all races and genders.”

Julia and her team have completed numerous IATA training procedures and are officially certified to handle Dangerous Goods, Live Animals, Perishables, and other shipments requiring special care and attention. Alongside her extensive portfolio, Julia serves as a Board Member of the Federation of Airline GSA (FEDAGSA) and has recently launched CargoCoach, an air cargo coaching, training, and consulting service.

Schedule a meeting with Julia today to explore how Strike can elevate your airline’s cargo operations to new heights!
